Start with something you already use
Measure a garment, bag or frame that works for you. Record the units and how the measurement was taken. A flat garment width, circumference and body measurement are not interchangeable.
Use the category-specific guide to choose the relevant dimensions. Compare like with like before interpreting a size label or deciding that a difference is acceptable.
Match the photos to your order
Check the order reference, chosen colour, size label and included pieces. Photos linked from somebody else’s spreadsheet may show a different order or an earlier version. They do not inspect your purchase.
- Confirm that all expected pieces are visible.
- Request a closer view when a closure, seam or label is unclear.
- Ask for a ruler or tape view when the missing answer is a dimension.
- Keep mismatches unresolved until you receive enough information.
Know what the image cannot establish
A photograph cannot establish material composition, authenticity, long-term durability or a protective performance claim. Lighting can also change apparent colour. Seek appropriate product documentation for claims that matter to your use.
Do not label an item verified simply because the images look convincing. Write a specific observation, such as “zip closure visible” or “strap measurement still needed”.
Keep the decision trail short
Save the latest evidence, the question it answers and what remains open. Check the provider’s current process and deadlines if you need a correction or return; this guide does not promise that either is available.
