Give every item a complete record
Record the product name, category, source link, seller reference, selected size and colour, quantity and checked-on date. Keep the source URL even if you also save an ordering-service link. A screenshot is useful context, but it is not a substitute for the current listing.
Add measurements with units and write down the question most likely to change your decision. For example: Does the bag fit my laptop through its opening? Is the listed chest measurement flat width or circumference?
Use this before-order checklist
Review each item against the questions below. Any unanswered question belongs in the Open questions column of your sheet, rather than being silently treated as a pass.
- Identity: does the current listing match the saved product and seller?
- Option: have I selected the exact size, colour, version and quantity?
- Fit: are the essential measurements known and compared with something I own?
- Evidence: which claims have supporting information, and which remain unverified?
- Cost: have I separated item price, delivery estimates and other charges?
- Decision: is this ready to compare, waiting for information or set aside?

Keep one row for each exact option. Recheck the live listing before placing an order, then update the checked-on date only after you actually review it. If a link breaks, preserve the old reference and the reason for setting it aside rather than replacing it with an unverified look-alike.
Move forward only when the missing detail is resolved
Ready to compare does not mean guaranteed quality or delivery. It means you have enough information to compare the item with your other candidates. Check order, return and shipping terms on the purchasing service before committing.
