Turn a Litbuy spreadsheet into a useful shortlist.

A Litbuy spreadsheet usually helps you discover products through rows of names, pictures, prices and source links. This page explains how to evaluate those rows and provides a blank CSV for your own comparisons. Keep the discovery row and the live listing separate

Save where you found the item, then open its source. A spreadsheet image, quoted price and linked variation may describe different versions. Record the seller reference and the option currently selected on the destination page.

Give every shortlisted item a checked-on date. When you return later, compare the live page again instead of assuming that a saved amount or screenshot is still current.

Use three states instead of a single favourite flag

Mark an item Ready to compare only when its option and essential measurements are known. Keep unanswered questions under Needs information. Use Set aside for unavailable items or unresolved source mismatches.

• Ready to compare: exact version, dimensions, currency and source recorded.
• Needs information: keep the missing fact in its own cell, such as strap length or shoe width.
• Set aside: preserve the reason so that an attractive photo does not put the same unsuitable item back on your list.

Example: two prices that are not comparable yet

Suppose a row shows 28 currency units for a bag, but the opened listing has a small version at 28 and a larger version at 41. A second bag costs 35 and includes a strap that the first sells separately. Comparing 28 with 35 would conceal both differences.

Write the dimensions and included pieces beside the amount before choosing. These figures illustrate the method; they are not current prices or offers.
